Simaudio launches the MOON i-3 Integrated Amplifier

Simaudio Ltd. proudly announces the introduction of the MOON i-3 Integrated Amplifier, our newest addition to the MOON Audio Reference series of audio components. Based on the well established MOON i-5 Integrated Amplifier, the i-3 delivers "audiophile" performance in a more affordable package. Over two decades of experience in the design and manufacturing of amplifiers, preamplifiers and integrated amplifiers have paved the way for the MOON i-3.

Significant Design Features:

• Simaudio's "Advanced Rennaisance" technology which eliminates feedback, resulting in real-time amplification, more tonally accurate musical reproduction, virtually non-existent transient intermodulation distortion and the elimination of phase errors.
• An oversized power supply using a custom proprietary toroidal transformer design.
• Extremely short capacitor-free signal path measuring 18.5 inches in length, from input RCA connectors to output binding posts, yielding a faster transient response.
• A gain section that uses a Crystal microprocessor functioning as a "shunt-to-ground" that doesn't degrade sonic performance regardless of the output level.
• Rated output of 100 watts/channel into 8 ohms and 160 watts/channel into 4 ohms.
• One input which functions as a "pass-through" that bypasses the gain stage to accomodate a component such as a home-theater processor, whose own volume control is used instead.
• Remote control operation.
• J-FET input devices in the preamplifier section.
• Precision-matched Bipolar output devices in the amplification section.
• Class A output to 5 watts for greater efficiency.
• Heavy-duty gold-plated output binding posts.
• Pure copper circuit board tracings with low impedance characteristics.
• Accurate matching of the finest high quality electronic components.
• Low operating temperature for a longer than normal life expectancy.
