Job summary

Under the authority of the production manager, the logistics officer is responsible for carrying out the various steps relating to shipping merchandise (preparing delivery note, packing slips, coordinating the shipment with the carrier, and preparing any other administrative documentation). He will also provide support to the storekeeper in order to maintain a good management of the parts and tools store.

Description of key responsibilities
  • Ensure shipping and transport activities;
  • Coordinate Export activities with the production department;
  • Ensure compliance with dates promised to clients and coordinate problematic cases with the team and/or customer service;
  • Coordinate shipping priorities with the assembly department;
  • Ensure the coordination and follow-up of orders for local and international components;
  • Review and optimize transportation processes and strategies to improve customer experience and transportation costs;
  • Ensure customs compliance with imports and exports;
  • Ensure compliance with the organization’s transportation policies and procedures as well as compliance with each country’s customs policies and procedures;
  • Receive and ship vrious goods;
  • Ensure the quality of the product received and report any anomaly;
  • Manage store inventory ;
  • Operate the forklift;
  • Be vigilant about health and safety risks

  • Bilingual
  • DEC or AEC (Logistics or Transportation Management) or other specialization deemed relevant;
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a position coordinating transport or logistics activities;
  • Knowledge of customs formalities for export and import;
  • Knowledge of Canadian Automated Export Declarations (CAED);
  • Knowledge of Incoterms;
  • Good command of the MS Office Suite, particularly Excel (intermediate level);
  • Epicor system knowledge (asset);
