The MOON 491 Network Player / Preamplifier and MOON 461 Power Amplifier made their world premiere at HIGH END Vienna 2026, held from June 4 to 7 at the Austria Center Vienna.

Following their reveal, these two new Compass Collection components were presented to the public for the first time at one of the major international events in high-end audio.

The 491 and 461 open a new path within Compass. They are designed for listeners who want to go further in the MOON universe, with a separate-component architecture created to deliver greater control, flexibility, and musical performance.

The MOON 491 acts as the control centre of the system. It brings together network playback, preamplification, digital-to-analog conversion, phono playback, and headphone amplification in a refined component designed to manage digital and analog sources with precision and simplicity.

The MOON 461 brings dedicated power amplification to the Compass Collection. As the most powerful model in the collection, it was designed to deliver stability, authority, and low distortion across a wide range of loudspeakers.

At HIGH END Vienna, the Compass pairing also caught the attention of What Hi-Fi?, which shared first impressions after listening to the system with Dynaudio Contour Legacy loudspeakers. The article highlights the scale, authority, bass control, vocal clarity, and overall refinement of the listening experience.

Visitors were also able to experience the MOON 400 Series in Room 2.83, Level 2, where the system was presented with our local partner Dynaudio and their loudspeakers.

With this world premiere at HIGH END Vienna, the Compass Collection takes another step forward. Alongside the MOON 371, the 491 and 461 confirm an evolving approach to MOON high-fidelity: elegant, powerful, and designed to take listeners further in their musical journey.
